    Coverage Highlights

    • Life Insurance coverage: $40,000 (for the member only)
    • AD&D Insurance coverage: $40,000 (for the member only)
    • The Fund pays the full cost of Life and AD&D Insurance coverage
    • If you have an accidental bodily injury and, independently of all other causes and occurrences, within 90 days after the date of the injury, you have a physical loss, you will be eligible to receive a benefit from the AD&D portion of the Plan:
      • Loss of two limbs, sight in both eyes, or loss of one limb and sight in one eye*: $40,000
      • Loss of one limb or sight in one eye*: $20,000
    • You designate a beneficiary for your Life and AD&D Insurance benefits
    • If you’ve opted out of Fund coverage (including providing the Fund Office with evidence you are covered under an employer group comprehensive medical benefits plan through your spouse’s employment), $1,500 will be deducted quarterly from your Administrative Account. This deduction is for Life Insurance, AD&D Insurance and Weekly Disability benefits provided by the Fund, plus an appropriate share of administrative expenses for the calendar quarter
    • If you have opted out of coverage and have less than $1,500 in your Administrative Account, $500 will be withdrawn monthly
    • Retiree coverage: $5,000

    * Loss of limb means complete severance at or above the wrist or ankle joint. Loss of sight means the total and irrecoverable loss of sight.

    Coverage Highlights

    • If you are covered under the Fund and become totally disabled, you are unable to work, and you are under the continuous care of a doctor, you are eligible to receive the following Disability Income Benefits:
      • Up to $300 per week for up to the first 13 weeks of disability
      • Up to $200 per week for up to the second 13 weeks of disability
    • Benefits start on the first day of injury or on the eighth working day due to Illness
    • To receive benefits, your disability must be the result of a non-work-related injury, or any Illness or disease not entitling you to benefits under any Workers’ Compensation, occupational disease law, or similar legislation
